DRAFT MIX - PRODUCER'S CUT - NOT OFFICIAL RELEASE

This is an unmastered unmixed draft version of my song Wish I Could that will drastically change before being officially released on my debut album produced by John Ellis.  This version will only be available to listen to for a short time while the album is being completed.

The reason why it will change so much is because... well... it's just not 'me'.  This song has been through such a bizarre journey.  We have restarted it no less than 4 times.  Twice was due to technical errors and the other two times was because it just didn't feel right.  I suppose there had to be at least one song that John and I would clash on, and well, this is it.

I keep telling John that it sounds too 'Country' (well, he is known for his Country records!) and he keeps saying that it's a great song and no matter what we do with it, it will be great, so tell me what you want and let's do it.

He's been patient with me all along, working with me to try to find the groove, re-recording guitars and bass etc. and now after all we've been through, I've stolen it back from him once again.  I have just a few weeks to come up with something on my own in my studio before we can finish it up for good.  The problem is that I'm used to just being inpsired and having songs come to me.  But to take a song I've already heard and performed a thousand times and do something unique and beautiful to it.. well, talk about pressure.  I suppose this is what separates the wannabe's like me from the real pro producers... (Like John, lol).

I'm curious though, even though I'm dead set against this version, I'd like to hear your thoughts out of curiosity.  What do you think?  It's just not 'me' , is it?
