Fallen

I edited and mixed this song in my home studio and it is on my self-produced EP 'The Music of Dana-Marie Vol. 1' released July 2009. This track can be purchased in the MP3 Store.

My sister really connects with this song. It makes her emotional as it reminds her of our childhood home. The lyrics came out all at once when I wrote the song though, I didn't deliberate them. I actually thought they were metaphorical. It wasn't until my sister was so affected that I realized what it was truly about. This song was very healing for me at that point.

The piano and vocals in this song were recorded by audio technician Brian Marchant, at St. John's Anglican Church in Squamish, BC. We were at the church on a mission to record "Fallen" on the grand piano so that we could have it on time for the shooting of the music video three days later. I added the strings in ProTools using a voice on my keyboard a few months later.
